Gamera 4: The Truth

by iosomewhere » Sun Aug 10, 2008 12:49 pm

Hi there Gamera Fans,:)

I am a huge Gamera and Godzilla fan, already for over 30 years,
Grew up with it,and watched them as a kid in every Sunday matinée in our little towns Cinema :)
Since sometime now I was wondering about Gamrea 4 The Truth.

Would like to know if anybody has seen that one and what you think about it !

Gamera 4: The Truth

Was a fan made unofficial Gamera Movie to the Heisei era and was directed by Shinpei Hayashiya !
Just read a bit about it,and that it should have been released by some company called Daiei.
But haven't seen any pictures or any info to validate it !
Would be nice if someone knows a bit more about it,has somepics or anyt other info !

Thanks..

Hey iosomewhere, I haven't had a chance to dig up the old photos of Gamera 4: The Truth on my computer but I did find them online and listed the link below. I haven't seen the film myself but I did saw a trailer back when it was made. For a fan made film, it is quite impressive. There was some CGI involved and since it's a fan made film, it was not as top notch as the official Gamera films. But they did create a Gamera and an Albino Gyaos suit. The Gamera suit looks nice with the exception that it's very bulky. The fan made film was very well received and was officially released on DVD. Check out the following article on our sister site, Monster Zero.

The photos I have can also be found here. Credits go to the Legacy of Gamera website.

I may have additional photos that I need to dig up. My harddrive died last year and everything is now unorganized...... If I find anything else, I'll post them here.

Thanks a lot for the Link, will check it out right away !
Sorry to hear about your harddrive crash !,hope you can recover the data.

Yeah,I heard so too that it was well received.
I remember I watched that Gamera on a festival,
and ithen..when all the Gaos where about to attack....it ended !!!!!!!
This was hard !

I always was wondering about how it will go on...but never something came.
Really would like to watch this one. I read it had the approval of the original makers !

Looking forward to any news..or pics !

For sure you have seen the great looking Godzilla in Always sunset in 3rd street,or ?
He just looks great, especially with the setting..like in the 50's or 60's. Just wish they would make a new one during that time period !
