Running Press has listed a book with a Godzilla light and sound figure on Amazon. The place holder image (which has been removed) looks like it was photoshopped from various images. But it does give us another look of the more than likely new Godzilla 2014 design. I personally hope that the final design will look better than this but at least it resembles Godzilla more than G'98 did.

A magazine page of the new MonsterArts Mothra has surfaced showing the different articulation points of our favorite lepidoptera (science term for moth). You can see the abdomen has articulation points that appear more realistic to the character than what was shown in the film. The legs move and I assume there are articulation with her mandibles, antennae, and mouth. This page doesn't display much of the wing articulation but we've seen those from previous posts.
UPDATE: Tamashii's web page provides official shots of their new Mothra. More after the jump.
Anyone with even a little history with me knows I have a special place in my heart for Trendmasters. I just love them, especially the unreleased lines like Doom Island, Origins, and the Animated Series.
Well, thanks to another dedicated Trendmasters fan, Jonathan Shyman (Trendmasters on our boards), the commercials for these lines have now been uploaded to YouTube! Check out the Godzilla Doom Island and Animated Series commercials, below.
Just look at that 90's CG!
Look at that! You can see the battery pack used on Biollante! This figure was especially made for the commercial. The battery pack was to power the extra LEDs used to make her brighter.
These come from a promotional pack given to retailers by Trendmasters reps. The pack included a DVD with commercials from their latest product lines. Unfortunately, after the less-than-stellar sales of the 98 movie line, retailers not only skipped on wave two, but the animated figures as well, so they were never released.
It's unclear if the 10" Doom Island figures were ever officially released. There are some reports of them being sold in American stores, but none of the packaged figures are properly marked and all share the same UPC code. This, along with statements by former employees, points to these figures being test runs of the manufacturing and packaging process.
You can read more about Trendmasters and Doom Island on our forums, here.
I think during Edwards' interview with IGN at SDCC, earlier this year, he all but said Godzilla would have his atomic breath. The Tristar Zilla film sort of dug itself even deeper by simplying making an omage to the weapon, but it doesn't look like Legendary will make the same mistake.
Thanks to another toy description leak, we seem to have confirmed that the king will have his signature attack in 2014.
Godzilla 2014 Movie Deluxe Attack & Roar Action Figure Asst is an Urban Collector pre-order. With collector-level detailing, this large scale figure brings the new Godzilla to life as he blasts his powerful atomic breath and lets out his iconic roar! Figure measuresapproximately 10' tall, and features authentic sounds and 'atomic breath' action. Openbox packaging.
I was already leaning towards atomic breath being present, so this only reassures me.
Next in our Sunday SHMA image dump, Mothra and Battra! Mothra will be a web-only figure in Japan, but Bluefin will be releasing her stateside soon after her initial launch in March. Battra will make its way over, early next year, in February.
More SHMA goodness from Toho Seesaa. This time, it's photos and a video of the upcoming Godzilla 2000 in the S.H. MonsterArts line from Bandai-Tamashii Nations. G2k got a holographic display, showing him being hit with missiles in front of a flaming city. Expect Godzilla 2000, in January of 2014.
Hit the jump for the full gallery. You can also download the video in 720p, here.
Been meaning to post about this for a few days, but better late than never, right? Diamond Select Toys will be releasing a new line of vinyl bust banks based on the big guy and other kaiju friends and foes. They're apparently considering full kaiju banks as well.
First in the lineup is fan-favorite, Godzilla 1989. Bio-goji will be about ten inches tall and set you back about $23... very nice!
Here's the company's description:
Godzilla 1989 Vinyl Bust Bank A Diamond Select Release! Is he monster, or hero, or both? This 10-inch bank of the city-destroying and alien-fighting lizard called Godzilla is based on his appearance in the 1989 movie Godzilla vs. Biollante! Cast in sturdy vinyl, the bank features a coin slot in his back, as well as an access door in the base. Sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios! (Item #DEC131817, SRP: $23)
BBTS currently lists this guy shipping in May of 2014. Wanna bet there's a Legendary-goji in their lineup, as well? Skreeonk has a nice write-up and is likely to hear more straight from Diamond, so be sure to keep checking in with them.
Alert Alert! Godzilla has surfaced in Quincy Bay and is heading towards Canton! Mothra has also been spotted flying over the city. Get Ready to Launch Mecha-Godzilla!
Hi all, just a friendly reminder about the Movie Night featuring the Kiryu movies back to back in Canton, MA tomorrow. (Please PM for details if you are interested in coming).
Please bring your family and friends to this fun event! Also we don't have free pizza this year so please remember to bring a snack or leave a meal in the fridge that can be heated up in the microwave.
We will start the first movie at 6pm. The first film is about 1 hour 28 minutes and we will break for a 10 - 15 minute intermission before starting the second film. The direct sequel is about 1 hour and 31 minutes so we should be done around 9:15pm.
With Tamashii announcing their new Final Wars Gigan yesterday, X-Plus could not hold back and released first shots at their upcoming 30cm Final Wars Gigan. Will it be in scale with the 30cm Final Wars Godzilla this time around? Will the Ric Boy version contain his Chainsaw accessories & upgraded head and perhaps light up eyes? Would be cool if his saw chest moved too but yea I'm asking too much... Stay tuned for more to come.
And X-Plus has taken a page from Bandai's book and will be releasing their amazing Godzilla 2003 figure as a ric boy exclusive with light up fins. This is one of my favorite figures and perfectly resembles that Godzilla from Tokyo SOS. Be sure to pick it up if you missed it the first time around.
